Mike and Molly- Gaining fans!!...somehow

Much to my suprise, Mike & Molly may have legs after all. The series is gaining fans in many key demographics. TVbythenumbers says that the show came in second for shows after 8pm for the second week in a row. It is doing well with men and women age 18-49. The show's last episode on Monday drew about 12 million viewers.  This is great for CBS, obviosly. The show is playing up the love interest between the two leads, while still throwing in enough self-depricating "fat jokes" to keep it's audience happy, apparently. We will see if this continues, or if the show drops quickly, as I predict!

  1. I, for some reason, would like to see this show do good. Maybe because lat a first glimpse it sounded terrible, but turned out to be pretty good. I am not sure if audiences actually think this way- but you would think, that with the majority of Americans being overweight, they could really relate to this show.

And i mean that seriously. If you want the audience to connect with the cast/show, then make that cast/show viewer friendly, So when the typical TV viewer watches they can feel comfortable watching it, and maybe relate to the situation, and characters. Not feel awkward and feel like they have nothing in common with the people.
That is why i am confused why Jersey Shore is popular. No one can relate to those people- They are living fake/produced lives. but i digress.

    Go Go Mike and Molly

  3. I have actually caught a few episodes. Its not horrible. I enjoy a good fat joke just as much as the next. The thing is that i prefer the "King of Queens" formula with the fat funny guy and hot wife.
